the 4th and Freedom

I heard a really challenging message this morning in church. It was based out of Galatians 5:1

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
Freedom comes with a price tag. Men and women have given their very own lives in order that we as a nation might enjoy freedom. God sent His Son to give us freedom and to experience life abundantly. However, God does not force freedom upon us. Freedom is a choice. I must choose for myself to walk in that path of freedom that He offers everyone. To do so, I must die. Die to myself, die to my desires, and choose to surrender to His perfect will in order to enjoy His perfect freedom.
Yesterday was our forth celebration. I enjoyed spending it with friends here at the Northwoods. We spent the afternoon on the water, had a fish fry (Crappie is awesome) and watched an awesome fireworks show in Land O Lakes. It was a long day to say the least. =) Today it’s rainy and wet, a great day for rest….well, maybe. =)
