Stop

I decided to take a walk this morning. It’s beautiful outside. It’s around 60 degrees. The sun is shining and there is a gentle breeze that makes it a little cooler. Everything is fresh and green…I love Spring. As I was walking I began to think of how busy I am. Life seems to pick up speed with each passing day…it continues to get fuller and busier. Is this a good thing?

I realized that there will always be the challenge of “slowing life down”…=). Busyness will always be there. The real question and point of concern is busy with WHAT and with WHOM. Busyness can rob me of precious time that I could be spending with a loved one…or more importantly, the Lord. Busyness can rob you of seeing the everyday beauty of life. Hence the old saying “Stop and smell the flowers.” =)
Busyness is something I am constantly involved with…LOL. But I have to ask myself is it something that is needful. Martha was a wonderful person I am sure, but she missed the needful thing that Mary recognized was so important (Luke 10).
These are just thoughts that I had this morning. I hope they encourage you. Don’t be too busy to stop and see God in the little things around you.

“For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory:
no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.
O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.”
~ Psalm 84:11-12~
